Services

Four ways we help resolve a disputed claim

Each engagement starts with a conflict check and ends with a written, line-item record that can stand up to scrutiny.

01

Appraisal

Appointed under a policy's appraisal provision to determine the amount of loss. Scope reconciliation, line-item review of competing estimates, and a documented position for the panel.

02

Umpire

A neutral umpire for appraisal panels that can't reach agreement, whether selected by both appraisers or appointed by a court. Impartial review of the items in dispute.

03

Loss estimating

Independent Xactimate estimates and estimate reviews for attorneys, appraisal panels, and claims professionals — built to hold up line by line.

04

Expert witness

Opinions on scope, pricing, and estimating practice for property insurance litigation, from someone who writes and reviews these estimates in the field.

Fire · Water · Wind · Hail Structure fires, water losses, and wind and hail damage.
Every property type Residential, commercial, and farm and ranch losses.

Process

How an engagement runs

Appraisal settles the amount of loss. Coverage and causation questions stay with the parties and, where needed, the courts. Keeping that line clear is what makes an award hold.

  1. Step 1

    Conflict check and engagement

Review of the parties, the policy's appraisal language, and the disputed amount before any appointment is accepted.

  2. Step 2

    Inspection and documentation

On-site inspection with photo, measurement, and scope documentation tied to every line that will be argued.

  3. Step 3

    Estimate reconciliation

Side-by-side comparison of competing estimates — scope, quantities, pricing, and code items — to isolate exactly where they differ.

  4. Step 4

    Award or written opinion

A signed award, umpire decision, or expert report, with the supporting record kept intact for anyone who reviews it later.
